What I am doing now...how I got here!

I have led both worship for retreats, conferences and women's aglow meetings, as well
as home groups. Currently I am the worship pastor in our local church and I also travel to retreats and conferences. My first full length CD entitled "Shining Through" is due out summer of 2009.
 
My earliest memories of God and music date back to when I was in second grade. I attended a Catholic school and I vividly remember one of the nuns would seat us all in
the pew and grab her guitar and play for us. While I may not have had words for it back then, I can tell you now that what I felt back then as a little girl was incredible peace
when she played her guitar. I do not remember a single word that was sung, but I can
still remember how it made me feel.

I think it was then that my destiny as a worshiper was awakened in me. Growing up I
would always be singing, and although I did not grow up in the church or sing Christian songs, music was always a powerful influence in my life.

When I accepted the Lord into my life, that passion for music took a whole new turn...I now knew who it was that put that passion within me. It was no longer just that I liked music, but that I was created for worship to God. That realization that I was created to worship God just took my love of music and propelled it into whole-hearted devotion to pour out my heart for God in song. I have said before that I often "sing my prayers". It is simply the most natural way for me to communicate with God.

Shortly after accepting Christ, I started to wake up in the middle of the night with music flowing through my mind. I would have music going through my head all day...songs of praise and adoration to God. I would dream music and wake up singing music. One
morning I can remember waking up with a song in my head and thinking, 'wow, I love this song'. It was then that I realized God was birthing music in me, as I had never heard this song  before!

I suppose God had decided it was time for me to walk in the destiny He had planned
for me since the beginning. So my path, as not just a worshiper of God but one who
leads worship, started to form.

Songwriting for me is usually not a task, honestly...they just come to me rather quickly.
I once had a friend call them "Holy Spirit Downloads" because one minute I am just hanging out and the next I have a complete song in my head. Many of my songs come out of times of intimate prayer with the Lord, as I pray and listen. I very rarely set out to actually "write a song". All the music on this site is original music. Some of it is from dreams, some from live worship settings and others from just being with the Lord...whether in my den or in my car, and doing  what I love, which is hanging out with Jesus!
